Student Athlete: Alli Pavlik

When Alli Pavlik picks up a basketball, or kicks around a soccer ball, finding the net just comes naturally.

“I think I was definitely blessed with an athletic ability that God gave me,” says Pavlik.  “I really have to give some credit to that because a lot of people don’t get that ability and I think I do have that, but I also work hard.  I try to do my best, and I want to be that person that people remember.”

Remembering Pavlik shouldn’t be a problem.  The Lakeview senior holds five school records, three in basketball and two in soccer.  She has 117 goals to date on the pitch, netting a total of 38 last season.  She has 142 steals on the court, and once scored 47 points in a game.  She also holds the school record for most points scored in a season at 592 points.

“It was like my junior year when I really peaked, and I was like ok, I really have to step up for my team.  I need to do this.  And, in the process of that, I just reached those records.  I didn’t realize I could do them in the beginning, but now that I have them, it’s awesome.”

Pavlik received all-Ohio honors in both sports. She was the 2012 All-American Conference player of the year.  She helped her team to three district soccer championshipss, and holds a four year record of 53-10-3 on the soccer field.  But, it’s not the awards that drives her to be her best.

“I keep it classy because I want people to remember good things about me.  That’s kind of my main thing.  I don’t care if I get 150 goals, I didn’t care if I scored any goals, I just want people to remember me in a really good way.”

She’s leaving a lasting impression in the classroom as well, sporting a 3.8 grade point average.  She’s also a member of Senior Beta and Yearbook club, all while volunteering at a local animal shelter.

“It’s important to me because that’s something that you need for college.  You get money for college.  So, I do try my best in school.  It’s tough to balance it, but it’s something you gotta do.”
