HUBBARD, Ohio (WYTV) — Thrill seekers, seasoned athletes and everyday couch potatoes will have the option to satisfy their appetite for adventure and challenge at the second annual The Burner event on Saturday.
The Burner is sponsored by Winger Productions, LLC, and is making its mark on the popular mud run/obstacle race craze by bringing the first event of this kind to Hubbard for its second year.
The Burner’s 5-to-7-mile course will feature 15 to 20 obstacles and will take place at Big Game Raceway, 2601 Elmwood Drive. The first event is on Saturday and the second one will be Sept. 6.
Race registration includes a complimentary beverage, event t-shirt, headband and more in an after party.
“We are very excited about bringing The Burner to Hubbard twice this year,” said Jim Marucci, founder of Winger Productions, LLC. “We’ve developed a 5-7 mile race, jam packed with challenging and entertaining obstacles that our runners will love.”
The Burner is a supporter of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley and a portion of registration fees for all challengers, spectators and party-goers through the gate will be donated to the organization.
“They have so much interest for so many different types of people that need help with their kids and I know what it’s like to lose one and just like to see some people get help,” Marucci said.
Registration fees start at $70. Race waves begin at 9 a.m.
