SHARON, Pa. (WYTV) — A sinkhole on a Sharon street keeps growing larger and larger.
It’s got the attention of residents in that neighborhood– who HOPE to get the attention of city officials.
Neighbors in the 200 block of Elm Avenue tell us city workers came by a few days ago to check out this hole.
They put down some plywood, a cone and barriers to alert drivers.
The hole is right in front of Todd Thomas’ house…
He says it gets worse and worse with every strong rain storm.
“I do believe the storm drain under the street is bad, and that’s what is causing the dirt to wash away with the rain water, causing a void gap underneath it, and of course it’s going to collapse at one point,” said Todd Thomas, whose house has the sinkhole in front of it.
Thomas says there are lots of kids who ride their bikes on that street.
He feels the city — not the residents — should have to fix the sinkhole.
WYTV called the Sharon City Manager and street department late this afternoon, and didn’t get an answer.
