Annual Safety Day held at Mosquito Lake

BAZETTA, Ohio (WYTV) — Firetrucks, helicopters and other safety vehicles were on display Saturday in Bazetta.

It marked the 12th annual Safety Day event at the Mosquito Lake boat marina.

Children were able to climb inside fire trucks and got freebies from local departments. A helicopter also touched down as part of the event.

“It’s something for the kids to do. You walk around and you see how many kids are here,” said Detective Joe Sofchek of the Bazetta Police Department. “Everybody just loves what we’re doing for the township. It brings people into the park and it makes people realize what we do every day and what we have to offer.”

The event showcased crews from Trumbull County and the Air Force Reserve base. It was also entirely free to visitors.
