Veterans honored in Coitsville

COITSVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WYTV) — Coitsville Township honored it’s veterans who now serve their community as police and firefighters.

It’s all part of a special Flag Day ceremony at the township’s newly remodeled memorial park on McCartney Road.

Those who have or are currently serving our country were also recognized.

Samuel Sinz lives in Coitsville and just got back from deployment in Afghanistan a few months ago. He said it’s nice seeing other veterans at events like this.

“There’s almost an unspoken feeling between vets whenever they see us, each other come out to these kind of events, Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, Flag Day. It’s a big deal. We all know why we do what we do,” said Sinz.

The New Castle Honor Guard conducted the ceremonial flag raising.
