2 OVI checkpoints set in Trumbull County

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Brookfield Township Police Department and the Niles Police Department, will hold two OVI checkpoints between 10 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday on State Route 7 in Brookfield Township and U.S. Route 422 in Niles.

.The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoints also will be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

The patrol reminds motorists to designate a driver if they plan to consume alcohol.
