Late local restaurant owner remembered

POLAND, Ohio (WYTV) —  Bocce balls were rolling in memory of the late Carmine Cassese.

Cassese was the owner of the MVR restaurant near YSU and was honored at the Lake Club in Poland with a bocce court named ‘The Carm.’

The idea began four years ago and construction began the first of this May.

The dedication by the owner of The Lake Club and friend of Cassese said he wanted the vision to bring love and comradery to the area.

“Carm by himself was a really humble person, did a lot of different jobs but really grew the MVR from the great restaurant that it was to the bocce Mecca of our whole Valley,” said Poland Lake Club owner Ed Muransky.

Cassese lost his battle with pancreatic cancer last summer
