Man found guilty in Youngstown murder case

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) — A Youngstown man was convicted Wednesday in the November shooting death of one man and the wounding of another.

After several hours of deliberations, a jury found Lavelle Stanley, 24, guilty of aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and several weapons charges. According to prosecutors, Stanley shot Elliot Stewart to death after a fight at a Southern Boulevard business.

Elliot’s brother, Derrick Stewart, was wounded in the shooting.

He will be sentenced next month.
