Crews battle two fires in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Two fires in the city of Youngstown kept crews busy overnight.

The first fire broke out about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of East Myrtle Avenue.

Smoke and flames were shooting from the house as crews worked to control the blaze. The house was completely destroyed.

About a half hour later, a fire erupted at a house on the west side.

Crews were called to the 1600 block of Hartzell Avenue where a fire was consuming a house and eventually damaged a neighboring home.

Both houses are believed to be vacant and no one was injured. Investigators have not determined a cause at either location.
