YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Northside Medical Center has appointed Trent Crable as Chief Executive Officer, effective Aug. 4.
Crable has 25 years of health care management experience, according to a news release from ValleyCare Health System, which operates the hospital.
Most recently, Crable served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Brooklyn Hospital Center, a 426-bed teaching hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Crable expanded the hospital’s ability to serve more patients by adding ambulatory surgery, improved emergency department flow for efficiency and patient satisfaction, and implemented changes in surgical processes that lowered infections below the national expected rate and facilitated recruitment of 12 new surgeons.
“For more than 100 years, Northside Medical Center has cared for the Youngstown community, and I’m honored to join the team of physicians, employees and volunteers that work so hard to continue that mission. Northside remains a valuable resource for this area, now more than ever with the new resources available to patients,” Crable said in the release.
He was referencing the recently completed expansion of the hospital’s emergency department and three-story tower.
“Trent has an established commitment to enhancing quality measures and the patient experience as well as a solid track record for making hospitals places where physicians and employees enjoy coming to work,” said Sandy Kessler, chairman, Northside Medical Center Board of Trustees. “On behalf of the board, I look forward to working with him to continue our commitment to providing patients with quality care.”
