Four Trumbull deputies promoted

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) –  Four Trumbull County Sheriff Department deputies earned their stripes Monday morning.

Harold Wix, Nick Timko, Milton Kellerman and Brian Kates all were promoted to the rank of sergeant. Major Harold Firster said it was a long and tedious process for the four.

They not only had to take a written exam, but the men underwent an assessment done by three peers from other counties. Firster said the four selected are some of the best they have in the department.

“It will definitely help the morale and the ability to perform our duties to and services for the public. It’s a great thing that we are promoting them,” Firster said.

The promotions bring the total number of sergeants in the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department to five.
