Scrappers win fourth straight

The Scrappers ended the homestand with a fourth straight victory with a 7-0 win over Aberdeen Monday at Eastwood Field.

Mahoning Valley plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.

Cleveland Indians’ top draft pick Bradley Zimmer went 2-5 with 3 RBI including a 2-run triple.  Yonathan Mendoza and Taylor Murphy finished with threee hits apiece in the victory.

Julian Merryweather picked up the win on the mound, tossing five shutout innings with five strikeouts.

The Scrappers improves to 15-22 on the season, and open up a five game road trip at State College Tuesday night at 7PM.
