Rich Center gears up for golf outing

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Twenty years ago, Youngstown residents Dominic and Jackie Marchionda lost Jackie’s sister Paula and her husband Tony in a plane crash when the couple was returning from a vacation in Italy.

The crash killed all on board the flight, which was landing in Pittsburgh.

In the wake of the crash, people from the area began donating money to the Marchionda family. Dominic is the CEO of NYO Property Group, based in Youngstown.

With the money donated, the Marchiondas started the Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University to honor Paula and Toney, who they said were instrumental in the upbringing of their son Christopher, who has autism.

A dinner to raise money for the Rich Center will be held Friday, Sept. 5, with a golf outing Monday, Sept. 8. Both will be held at The Lake Club in Poland.
