Woman faces felony charges in Warren incident

Warren assault at Packard Park

WARREN (WYTV) — A woman is facing felony charges after being arrested last night on claims she struck a man with her car at Packard Park.

According to Warren police and officers at the Trumbull County Jail, April Walker, 53, is being held on an aggravated vehicular assault charge.

Officers were called to the park about 7:30 p.m. by a witness who said a man had been struck by a car.

The man — whom police identified as William Whitman — told officers he stood in front of the woman’s car to keep her from leaving.

And that’s when she drove into him, he said.

Walker was arrested and Whitman, 51, was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital with “serious visible injuries.”
