Youngstown Music Awards set Nov. 30

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A lot of great musicians have come from the Youngstown area and many more are now bursting onto the local music scene.

The Youngstown Music Awards were created to give local artists, musicians and entertainers the credit they deserve.

To be nominated for a YMA, a band or artist must submit their information to the YMA website. Once the information is submitted, as long as they fit the criteria as an artist who has played the local music scene and is from the area, their nomination will be approved. The award is open to cover bands as well as those who play original music.

Voting began July 1 and runs through Sept. 1. Click here to vote.

The YMA’s will be held Nov. 30 at Rodeo Music Hall, 1743 S. Raccoon Road in Austintown.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Creative Bridge Coalition, which helps kids birth through age 9 and those with special needs up to age 21 learn through effective music-based programs. For the YMA event, the Creative Bridge Coalition will donate the money to the Rich Center for Autism and Fairhaven workshop in Niles to assist in music program for the clients.

The Honorary Youngstown Music Award will be given to Left End.
