Don Guthrie benefit dinner to be held in Girard

Don Guthrie shares the story of his battle with cancer

GIRARD, Ohio (WYTV) — Hundreds, possibly thousands, are expected to show their support for longtime WKBN Chief Meteorologist Don Guthrie on Saturday.

The Don Guthrie Scholarship Benefit Dinner will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. at the the IFH Hall in Girard.

A $10 ticket includes a spaghetti dinner, bread, salad and dessert. There also will be plenty of auction baskets to place a bid on.

Part of the proceeds will help set up a scholarship at YSU.

“The whole thing is overwhelming for me. I just want to do more than one YSU scholarship or at least have it go on in perpetuity, so the more money we make the better the chances we can keep that scholarship at YSU,” said Guthrie.

Take out also will be available.
