Ohio Democrat chairman offers condolences

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WYTV) – Upon media reports concerning the passing of former Congressman Jim Traficant, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern issued the following statement:

“I met Congressman Jim Traficant as a student on the campus of Bowling Green. On behalf of Democrats everywhere, I offer former Congressman Traficant’s family and friends our condolences and thoughts at the passing of Jim. It’s tremendously painful to lose a loved one, and I personally wish Jim’s loved ones nothing but the best in this difficult time.”

Traficant died Saturday from injuries he sustained in a tractor accident at his daughter’s farm in Greenford on Tuesday.
