First Meeting

The Steelers fell to Wilmington last Friday, 28-12. Despite John Jackson’s 32-yard touchdown scamper – the Hounds’ Cody Llewellyn scored four total touchdowns to seal Farrell’s fate.

Farrell opened the season with two wins (vs. Erie East and at Reynolds). The Steelers are 2-2 in the region. Their last meeting with a team out of state was against Wheeling Central Catholic (WV) on September 10, 1998. The outcome resulted in a 21-12 loss for the Steelers.

Farrell has lost their last five games in the month of October.

Since falling to both Benedictine (27-6) and Steubenville (14-9) on the road, Ursuline has rallied back to defeat Lake Catholic (39-14) and Harding (33-14) in the past two weeks. Last Friday, Vito Penza threw for a touchdown and ran for three others as Ursuline improved to 3-2.

Larry Kempe’s squad opened the season with three straight road contests which all have winning records through the fifth week.

Ursuline has posted a 10-5 home record since 2011. Prior to that stretch, the Irish won 27 home match ups in a row. The Fighting Irish are 4-3 against teams from Pennsylvania since 2006.
