Traficant passing remembered on social media

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Former Valley Congressman Jim Traficant passed away Saturday after being seriously injured in a tractor accident on his Greenford, Oh. farm a few days earlier.

Traficant served in Congress from 1984-2001 in the House of Representatives and was sentenced in 2002 to eight years in prison on federal corruption charges.

Traficant was born on May 8, 1941. He died at the age of 73.

Congressman Tim Ryan, who succeeded Traficant as the Congressional representative from Ohio’s 13th district, had this to say:
