Big Red outlast Mercer

Mercer, Pa. (WYTV) – West Middlesex hit the road this week and returned home with the 41-27 win over host Mercer.

Tied at 14 in the second quarter, the Big Red’s Trey Staunch called his own number and punched it in from a few yards out to make it 20-14 West Middlesex.

Then, leading 28-14, the Big Red defense took over, pressuring Mercer quarterback Logan Clarke and keeping him off-balance most of the game.

After forcing a Mustang punt, the Big Red would put the game out of reach, scoring on an Eric Luchic touchdown run.

West Middlesex (4-2) will host Youngville next week.

Mercer (1-5) will look to get back in the win column next week when they travel to Conneaut.
