Boardman falls short of first win

Boardman, Ohio (WYTV) – In search of their first win on the season, the Boardman Spartans welcomed Perry on Friday night, but fell just short 20-14 in overtime.

In the third quarter, trailing 14-7, the Spartans’ Mario Graziani fielded a kickoff and weaved his way through the defense and broke free, taking it all the way for the score and tying the game at 14.

But, in overtime, the Spartans would turn the ball over on their first drive and then gave up a touchdown on Perry’s first drive, ending Boardman’s night.

Boardman (0-6) will travel to Hoover next week.
