MASSILLON, Ohio (WYTV) – In a back-and-forth encounter between two of Northeast Ohio’s best, Fitch edged Massillon, 34-33, at Paul Brown Stadium. Since falling to Brunswick in week three (41-27), the Falcons have notched three wins at Dover (42-32) and Massillon (34-33) and at home against Boardman (31-5).
A week after handing Steubenville their first loss, the Tigers jumped out to a 14-0 lead entering the second quarter. At halftime, Massillon led by 3 and had compiled 258 yards of total offense while converting on 7 of 10 3rd downs.
Fitch outscored Massillon in the final frame (14-6) as the Falcons were able to hold onto a 34-33 lead following an Andrew David missed 40-yard field goal attempt late in the contest. Antwan Harris threw for 72 yards on 8 of 13 passing. Harris and Tyler Hewlett both went over 100-yards on the ground. Antwan ran for 114 on 23 attempts while Hewlett compiled a game-high 133 yards on 14 totes. Joey Harrington also caught 3 passes for 37 yards and amassed 73 yards on the ground (7 attempts).
Massillon’s quarterback Danny Clark connected on 18 of 32 passing for 237 yards. J.D. Crabtree ran for 114 yards on 26 rushes. Tre’on Vance caught 6 passes (49 yards) and Reggie Rogers snagged 4 receptions.
