Liberty holds off Jefferson

Liberty, Ohio (WYTV) – Liberty picked up their fifth win on the season, holding off a late surge by visiting Jefferson and winning 33-25.

The Leopards jumped on top early on a Lynn Bowden 23 yard touchdown pass to Ben Phillips, giving Liberty a 7-0 lead.

Later in the half it was Bowden through the air again, hitting JaShaun Whitman on a 32-yard strike to make it 13-0.

Then, Bowden would use his legs to increase the Liberty lead, fielding a Jefferson punt and taking it 57 yards for the score.

A 23 yard pass from Bowden to Khyri Davis expanded the Liberty lead to 27-12 late in the game.

Jefferson fell for the first time this season as the Falcons were able to register four straight games of 40 points or more until tonight’s match up with the Leopards.
