Youngstown, OH (WYTV)- The Canfield Cardinals used a balanced offense, and strong defense to defeat Youngstown East Saturday 34-8.

Both teams played well defensivley early. On their first possesion, Canfield was stopped on a 4th and 1 by the Panthers defense. However East was unable to capitalize on the following possesion.

Canfield was able to break the scoreless tie in the 1st quarter after quarterback Jake Cummings called his own number from a few yards out to give the Cardinals a 7-0 lead. They were able to double their lead in the second after a blocked punt gave Canfield great field position that led to a Luke Whittenberger touchdown from 2-yards out that put the Cardinals up 14-7.
