Poland, OH (WYTV)- At halftime of their game against Bellaire St. Johns, the Youngstown Christian Eagles retired Anthony Harris’ jersey and presented a plaque to his family.
Harris and his father died this summer tragically in a boating accident while fishing. Members of his family were on hand for the ceremony. The team has placed his number 54 on their helmets for this season.
On the field, the Fighting Irish controlled the first half. Quarterback Chase Truax found Cody Hamilton over the middle in the 1st quarter for the games first score from 35-yards out to make it 7-0.
A little later in the first Hamiliton was able to find the end zone again, this time on the ground as he went to his left and scored for a 28-yard touchdown run.
Bellaire would score 19 straight points before Berchindle Foster would score on the ground to make it 19-7. At half the Eagles were down 25-7, but then would rattle off 33 straight points in the second half to beat the Fighting Irish 40-25.
Foster rushed for 248 yards and 4 TD’s.
