Moore named MVFC Defensive Player of the Week

Youngstown, Ohio (WYTV)- Youngstown State junior Tre’ Moore has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference defensive player of the week for his performance in the Penguins game against Missouri State.



Moore recorded a career-high 11 tackles and posted two interceptions against the Bears including an interception that allowed YSU to run the clock out for the 14-7 win. This was only the second game that Moore has started this season.

The Penguins defense as a whole played possibly their best game of the season as a group. Coming into Saturday, Missouri State averaged 442 yards of total offense in their first 4 games. However the Guins D held the Bears to just 227 yards of total offense.
