Week 6: Plays of the Week

Youngstown, OH (WYTV)- Our Plays of the Week start off in Boardman for number 5. On a kick return the Spartans Mario Graziani muffs the catch, but picks the ball back up, breaks a tackle and is heading down the sideline, more defenders on the way but one cut for Graziani shakes the defenders and has nothing but green ahead of him. Graziani gets the touchdown and a spot in our top plays.

Number four takes us to Youngstown for Mooney and Saint Ed’s, not a great game for the Cardinals but here, Joe Saadey finds CJ Amill on the screen, looks bottled up, cuts it back up the middle has a hole, he is able to break off a big gain before being taken down from behind.

For number three we go to Hubbard and its LJ Scott on the carry, Scott is able to make the first man miss and then gives a stiff arm to another Red Dragon defender before just walking into the end zone for the score. Scott with another big day for Hubbard as the Eagles soar past Niles.

Number two takes us to Liberty where Lynn Bowden is making his weekly appearance in our Plays of the Week. Takes the punt return with one hand, heads to the far side, doesn’t like what he sees there so decides to come back to the near side. It was a good idea, sprinting down the sideline, just one more man to beat, plants his foot and explodes back up the middle, makes two Jefferson defenders run into each other as Bowden runs into the end zone and into the number two spot in our plays of the week.

That was good, this, well this was clutch. Bob Devito, game on the line for Poland and he drills it from 33 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 18-17 over Howland and gives a kicker the top spot in our plays of the week for the first time this season.
