East side fatal crash victim identified

Man dies in Landsdowne Blvd. crash

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Mahoning County Coroner has identified the victim of a late Monday night crash on the east side.

The coroner’s office said Francisco Pagan, 52, of Youngstown, died from multiple blunt force injuries to his head and chest. He was not wearing his seat belt.

The crash occurred just before midnight on Landsdowne Boulevard near East High School. Youngstown police said Pagan was driving a commercial van when he hit a utility pole and sheared it.

Some east side residents were without power for a few hours because of downed wires. When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they found the damaged vehicle, and live wires that were brought down by the sheared pole.

The coroner said the accident remains under investigation and toxicology results on Pagan are pending.
