YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Wednesday, the Youngstown city police department and prosecutor’s office are deciding on a course of action after receiving a tip on the investigation into a fatal accident Monday on Interstate 680 in Youngstown.

According to city police, investigators have identified a vehicle which may have hit and killed Youngstown resident Nicole Baird, 20, early Monday morning, as well as a person who may have been driving.

As of now, no one has been arrested and police have no vehicle in their possession.

Monday around 5:45 a.m., Baird stopped on the road after running over what turned out to be a bag of leaves.

One driver hit her, then stopped and called 911.

The second driver hit and fatally wounded Baird, then kept going, perhaps without realizing what happened.
