BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) — Adults and kids alike got a chance to brush up on their fire safety skills today.
The Boardman Fire Department held its fire safety day at the township station.
Folks could get an up-close look at fire engines and gear, and a Jaws of Life device.
There was also a live demonstration about how quickly fire can spread in a building.
“This is definitely geared toward children. It’s very informative for them. We have the smoke trailer running, teach them fire safety, how to crawl under smoke. How to get out of a window,” said Mark Pitzer, Boardman Fire Chief.
The event was just one of many held locally as part of the annual Fire Prevention Week which wrapped up today.
