Columbus, OH (WYTV)- LaBare’s Haylee Harford (Girls’ Division II) and Warren JFK’s Ryan Fowler (Boys’ Division III) won the individual medals at the state golf tournament.
Harford was tied for the lead after day 1, and shot a 73 to claim the outright lead for a total of 141. She beat Shelby’s Alexis Jones by just one stroke. It is the second time that Harford has won the individual medal.
Fowler shot a 71 on day one at North Star, good for second place. But the senior was able to claim the overall title by shooting a 72 on day two.
The Lakeview Girls’ golf team finished 2nd in the overall team standings, finishing just 9 strokes back of Dover who won the tournament. This was the second straight year the Bulldogs made the tournament, they finished 7th last year. Kaylee Neumeister, Ryan Rosenberger, Ashley Frasca, Taylor Horn and Emily Coller combined to shoot 676 over the two days.
