YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – There was a happy ending on Tuesday night after an 8-year-old Youngstown girl who was thought to have gone missing was found safe.
Police and fire personnel searched the Brownlee Woods area of the south side starting about 8:30 p.m. after her parents reported they had not seen her for two hours. Authorities set up a command center at the new Youngstown fire station on Midlothian Boulevard and were organizing a search party to search a wooded area near Ipes Field, but she was found inside her home sleeping after a 45-minute search.
The Youngstown Fire Department even had searched the home with their infrared camera, but it did not show the girl inside.
An Amber Alert was never issued.
