YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Country music star Wynonna Judd is scheduled to play Stambaugh Auditorium in January.
Tickets go on sale Friday, October 17 at 10 a.m. Judd is scheduled for a Jan. 30 concert beginning at 8 p.m.
The show is billed as Wynonna and friends: “Stories and Song.” Music marking Judd’s 30-year career in country music will be performed, highlighting stories that inspired her to record the songs, create the tours and make recording history while inspiring countless friends along the way.
Judd’s career started in the early ‘80s as half of the country singing duo, The Judds, with her mother Naomi. The Judds received multiple Grammy, CMA, and ACM Awards and sold over 20 million albums. In the early 1990’s, Wynonna launched a solo career. Her quintuple platinum 1992 solo album, Wynonna, spawned four No. 1 hits and was the bestselling country album by a female artist at the time. In 1994, Rolling Stone called her “the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline.” She has sold over 10 million albums as a solo artist.
