Niles man indicted in cop’s son’s drug death

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV)- A report released Wednesday states that a Trumbull County Grand Jury has indicted a Niles man in the May death of a police officer’s son, according to WKBN print partner The Tribune Chronicle.

The grand jury has indicted Mark Thornsberry, 25, in connection with the death of Joshua Robbins, 25, on May 31.

Robbins, the son of Niles Police Detective James Robbins, died of a heroin overdose. Authorities said Thornsberry injected the drugs into Robbins.

Thornsberry is charged with involuntary manslaughter, corrupting with drugs, tampering with evidence and heroin possession. His arraignment is set for Thursday, Oct. 23, at 9 a.m. at Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
