Public Traficant tribute set

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A public tribute to honor former Valley congressman Jim Traficant has been scheduled.

The Traficant family announced Wednesday that a “Celebration of the Life and Accomplishments of James A. Traficant, Jr” will be held Sunday, Nov. 30 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Federal St., Youngstown at 2 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, however, tickets are required. Free tickets will be available Monday, Nov. 17 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office on a first come first served basis. There is a limit of four tickets per person.

Traficant died from injuries he sustained in a Sept. 27 tractor accident at the family’s farm in Greenford.
