Mooney’s run comes to an end

Cardinal Mooney Volleyball

Barberton, OH (WYTV) – The Cardinal Mooney volleyball team was outmatched in a 3-0 loss to Gates Gilmour Academy in the Division III Regional Semifinals Thursday.

The Cardinals were without the services of senior setter and District Player of the Year, Gina Patella, due to a knee injury. Several players stepped up in her absence, including senior Mckenzie Reese with 7 kills and 8 digs.

Junior Maddie Abrigg finished with 8 kills, while senior Lauren Lottier chipped in 15 digs. Senior Marcella Adams also had 10 assists and 8 digs.

Mooney finishes the season with a 23-3 overall record.
