Trumbull County investigates prank video

Trumbull County Engineer

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – An investigation is ongoing at the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office involving employees and what the engineer calls a “fake video” that was sent to state investigators as well as the Ohio EPA to prompt an investigation.

Employees were training in May with a third party on how to operate a vacuum truck by sucking up water from a storm sewer out at the Engineer’s Office. According to county spokesperson and attorney Matt Blair, one employee videotaped while others tilted the truck to allow water to run out of the back of the truck and into a storm sewer.

Blair said the person videotaping could be heard on the tape claiming that those engineering employees were intentionally dumping hazardous waste into the storm sewer.

Ohio BCI and the EPA investigated the tape and determined there was no environmental violation and closed their investigation.
