Kidnapping caught on tape

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CNN Newsource) – Even without sound, the video is disturbing – a series of black and white images showing a man appearing to drag a woman down the street and force her into a car.

Philadelphia police released the frightening footage in the hopes of catching the apparent kidnapper.

He’s seen in the video wearing a dark jacket with a hood, a dark hat and dark pants. Police say the victim is 22-year-old Carlesha Freeland-Gaither. She was taken around 10:00 p.m. Sunday.

A witness said the victim yelled for help and just before the vehicle pulled away, the victim broke out two windows.

Her glasses and cell phone were dropped onto the road.

The woman’s family says she is a nurse and was only a few blocks from home when she was taken.

Officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
