CHAMPION, Ohio (WYTV) – Police arrested a Warren woman after they say she showed up at a day care center in Champion drunk and caused a raucous with officers.
Police were following a woman about 3 p.m. Wednesday who was driving erratically along Mahoning Avenue when she pulled into the Kiddie Daycare, 5033 Mahoning Ave., where they confronted her in the parking lot.
The woman, identified as Jacqueline Metheny, 27, became belligerent with a Champion police officer and shouted profanities at him, according to a police report. She told officers she was at the day care to pick up her daughter.
The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on Metheny and she was taken to the Ohio State Highway Patrol barracks in Southington for a breathalyzer test which recorded a reading of .216, three times the legal limit.
Metheny was placed in a police cruiser to be taken to the Trumbull County Jail when she began slamming her head against the dividing partition and the window of the vehicle. Police said Metheny threatened officers telling one of them she was going to kill him when she got out of jail, according to the report.
Metheny was charged with DUI and menacing by stalking. She was released from the Trumbull County Jail under a $1,500 bond. A pretrial is scheduled for Dec. 4.
The child at the daycare was picked up by Metheny’s grandmother.
