VIENNA, Ohio (WYTV) – The Youngstown Warren Regional Airport is celebrating more growth.
The airport held a ribbon cutting Thursday for a new T-hangar. It is 327 feet long and 50 feet wide. That’s big enough to hold 14 smaller airplanes.
The benefit is that takes the small planes out of the big hangars so they can hold larger planes like they’re designed too.
Pilots can wheel their aircraft out thru 40-foot doors and be right on the taxiway.
“These are for smaller aircraft. They fit in these Ts very well,” said Airport Director Dan Dickten. “It takes the smaller aircraft out of the big hangars so the big hangars can accommodate some larger aircraft, some corporate aircraft.”
The hangars have electric doors, concrete floors, and insulation.
