YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Humility of Mary Health Partners will officially change its name this month to Mercy Health.
The change reflects a partnership with the network of health care providers that comprises Mercy Health, the largest health system in Ohio.
The transition began in July when Catholic Health Partners changed its name, with all markets to eventually adopt the change.
The names of HMHP’s three health centers – St. Elizabeth, St. Joseph and St. Elizabeth Boardman — will change to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, St. Joseph Warren Hospital and St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
“Changing our name to Mercy Health clearly identifies us as being an integral part of one of the largest Catholic Health Systems in the country,” says Bob Shroder, President and CEO Mercy Health. “In this rapidly changing world of healthcare, where providers are continually challenged to do more with less and where we are held accountable not only for the care we provide our patients, but for the overall health of the communities we serve, being clearly identifiable as a member of the largest family of healthcare providers in Ohio is a benefit to our patients, our employees and our communities.”
As part of the system name change, HMHP Physician Associates, HMHP’s employed physician group, will become Mercy Health Physicians.
During the transition, the Mercy Health name will be added to many materials, but new signage reflecting this name change will not be installed until a full migration to the Mercy Health brand has been established.
