Industrial park deal nearly done in Lordstown

LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A local developer is set to close on property formerly owned by General Motors to make way for an industrial park.

According to our media partner the Tribune Chronicle, Bruce Rasher, the redevelopment manager for RACER (Revitalizing Auto Communities Environmental Response Trust), will close on the property in the next couple of weeks.

The 173-acre parcel is located on Hallock-Young Road and Route 45.

RACER reached an agreement with NorthPoint Development for the purchase of the property near the GM Lordstown Plant.

The property will be turned into an Industrial park housing industrial, warehouse and light manufacturing businesses. The park is expected to bring up to 1,500 jobs to the area.
