Phantoms start fast, fall to Steel

YOUNGSTOWN, OH (WYTV)-The Phantoms scored the games first two goals, but Chicago was able to mount a comeback, defeating Youngstown 7-5.

The games first goal came off a turnover in the Phantoms own end. Carson Vance stole a dump attempt and quickly fired the puck to Kyle Connor who snuck behind the defense and was able to put one past Cale Morris.

Later in the second, with the Steel on the powerplay, Ryan Lomberg was able to force another Chicago turnover, creating a 2-on-1 the other way, Lomberg kept it himself, firing a wrist shot past Morris. Lomberg would tally three goals on the night.

The Steel finally got on the board late in the first period, when John Ernsting found space at the bottom of the circles and put a bad angle shot past Colin DeAugustine for the goal.
