Garden addition gives wheelchair accessibility

Wheelchair ramp build

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Volunteers came together Saturday to help make others’ lives a little bit easier.

Workers were building wheelchair accessible garden tables to be placed at the Youngstown Inner City Gardens on Idlewood Avenue.

The tables will let anyone who uses a wheelchair have access the community gardens.

Among the group of about a dozen helpers was a family from Liberty.

“Today’s the Sabbath and we thought today’s a good day to help and bless other people,” said Dakota Hrabowy, volunteer.

The Youngstown Inner City Gardens was created by Mason Carratt two years ago. It works to make sure people in the city have access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
