Mercer County bridges to be demolished

MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WYTV) — Some bridges in Mercer County could face the wrecking ball.

Bridges were evaluated by the county engineer for factors including traffic volume, condition, detour routes, replacement cost, and number of homes and businesses affected.

The evaluation resulted in 23 bridges that may be eliminated, including this one on Wrengler Avenue just south of Connelly Boulevard in Sharon.

Meetings are planned for next month so residents can learn more about the process.
