Historic organ donated to local church

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) —  St. Patrick’s Church celebrated a brand new addition to their congregation.

Before John Knox Church closed its doors last year due to declining attendance, they made a major donation to their neighboring church, St. Patrick’s, of a historic organ valued at $750,000.

On Sunday, the Youngstown Church held a dedication ceremony to commemorate the completion of the new organ’s installation.

“Well we were about to start upgrading our organ, and the John Knox folks said, well we have got an organ that is probably worth 10 times as much as yours. And we would like to gift it to you, to be honest with you it’s a jaw-dropping experience,” said Father Edward Noga of St. Patrick’s Church.

John Knox Church was sold last October to Community Corrections Association for $60,000.
