Truck flips in Yo.’s 2nd fatal Thanksgiving accident

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Youngstown Police are investigating a one-car accident Thursday morning that left 24-year-old Rob Campy II dead on the city’s southeast side.

Police originally were not sure when the accident occurred, but a report from the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office states the accident happened shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday.

The truck crashed just off Poland Avenue in the parking lot of Allied Erecting & Dismantling. Youngstown police officers said they believe the male driver hit a curb, over-corrected and ran into scrapyard parking lot before his truck flipped over, ejecting him.

A passerby called police Thursday morning to alert them of the situation.

Police said there are surveillance cameras at Allied Erecting and Dismantling that have footage they will be reviewing in the case.
