POLAND, Ohio (WYTV) — A farm in Poland has brought Christmas joy early to the Valley.
December is not for two more days, but on Molnar Farms the Christmas Spirit is already here.
“Today we are having Christmas on the farm. It is a craft and gift market and we invited a bunch of local artisans with hand crafted unique items for great Christmas gifts or decorations or even a little something for yourself,” said Virginia Molnar, owner of Molnar Farms.
In fact it’s the first time the family owned farm has hosted a Christmas themed event. The idea came to them after they installed heating units in their sale barn.
“So we decided what better way to end the season and kickoff the holiday season than with our Christmas on the farm,” said Molnar.
The Molnar’s invited 20 local vendors to Christmas on the farm, one of them, Carol Landis signed up to bring the “spirit of giving” through her charity called Operation Wrapped in Love.
“We sell blankets, and for every blanket we sell we donate one to a veteran or the Akron Children’s Hospital and the person buying the blanket gets to decide who we give it to,” said Carol Landis.
Landis has been giving blankets for 15 years now and she says it’s surprising the number of veterans who have never even been thanked for their service.
“Some of them have told me they have never been thanked for their service. They get a card with each blanket they get thanking them for their service,” said Landis.
The Christmas on the Farm event wraps up the open season for Molnar Farms, but they will be opening back up next year in time for strawberry season in the spring.
