YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) — The Party With a Purpose was held Saturday evening at St. Michael’s Social Hall in downtown Youngstown.
It was a 70s bash– with the goal of raising money for a scholarship in honor of Vivian Martin.
She was the local realtor who was robbed and murdered back in 2010.
Martin’s family recently established a scholarship in her honor for a nontraditional student at YSU.
“Excited about that. So the funds we raise at this event will help us add to it and maybe we can get more, or maybe help more students,” said Donna James, Vivian’s daughter.
The goal is to help out a student with kids who works during the day and needs tuition help.
