POLAND, Ohio (WYTV) — A special service was held Sunday at Poland United Methodist Church.
The service featured Pastor Dan Schall, who grew up with a speech impediment.
Schall has a stutter when speaking, but not when singing. For Sunday’s service, he spoke and sang to the congregation about his life with a speech impediment.
The church welcomed this kind of service and said it offers the congregation a different way to worship.
“Our praise service reaches folks that like a little more contemporary or upbeat music. Our more traditional service has the choir and organ and people enjoy the old hymns,” said lead pastor, Michael Grant.
Church leaders said that Schall, who is from Pennsylvania, has sung at the church every few years for the past eight years.
